Production Manager - The Pliant Girls by Meghan Brown

This is a paid position. The stipend for this position is $500.

Theatre Prometheus seeks a talented production manager with strong interpersonal and project management skills to production manage their Fall 2024 production of The Pliant Girls.

In the fall, Theatre Prometheus will partner with fellow local theater company Nu Sass Productions to produce Meghan Brown’s The Pliant Girls. This event marks Theatre Prometheus’s first ever coproduction. We are honored to have this opportunity to work with a company that shares our values and echoes our own mission to make space for marginalized groups in theatre. We are especially excited to be able to share this timely play together as both our companies celebrate landmark anniversaries (Theatre Prometheus’s 10th season and Nu Sass’s 15th season).

Winner of the 2014 Ovation Award for Playwriting of an Original Play, The Pliant Girls is an adaptation(ish) of Aeschylus’s The Suppliants. Fifty blood-stained brides seek refuge after murdering their husbands on their wedding night, but no one's eager to take them in. As Kay, Leta, Arianna, Courtney, and Philomena beg for their lives, their stories form a complex tapestry of contemporary sisterhood… and provide insight into the deaths of the men who stood in their way.

Combining humor, heart, and a healthy dose of rage, The Pliant Girls is a sharply insightful exploration of love, sisterhood, and reclaiming the power to make your own choices.
